import_16 With the import function, data consisting of different value types can be imported and used in the PTB. Besides numerical values, these value types can be such as listed in the adjacent table. By importing the data, the values will be translated either into boolean data type, „0“ or „1“.

Import csv- or excel-files into the workspace via „Import Sensor Values“ under „File“ in the task menu. Select the data source. Next click on „Add“ to select the requested file(s). The selected files can contain unlimited number of data points that are either arranged next to each other or below each other.  Via a template the data from the file can be assigned to the corresponding metadata of the sensor in the digital testbench. Alternatively a new template can be created. The interpolation interval can be entered in the template. If no value is defined, the workspace quantization is used for the interpolation. The interval is ignored during the import of COV data and its data set ends with the lastly changed value and will not be completed further. Via „Block Lenght“ you can choose which column of the import file should be selected for the data import. The first column contains the time stamp. A block lenght of 1 selects every following column for the data import, a block lenght of 2 only every second column, and so forth.

Further information about available parsers can be found here:

Before finishing the data import, the correct assignment of the data points as well as the readibility for the digital testbench can be checked in the preview window.

Import_3

The imported data points can later be found in the data section. They can be allocated to files by drag&drop.
The import is carried out similarly to the plot pilot.

The imported data can now be assigned to the reference variables and sensors of the active functional specification.
